TSL Kid’s Club
July 18th 2012
Black Marlin double for father and son: TSL Kid’s Club Josh and Phil Golden each caught a Black Marlin last week at Tropic Star Lodge in Panama. Josh caught a Yellow Fin tuna that weighed in at more than he does and he also caught a very nice Cubera Snapper. Kid’s Club at TSL enables every paying adult to bring a child under 18 years to fish for free. This can be a great bonding experience! Josh is only 15 years old, yet he has caught Black Marlin, Pacific Sailfish and a host of other species while fishing Central America with his father. Good experiences together help build strong family relationships. Albert (TSL Dockmaster), Josh and Phil with certificates for their first Black Marlin, and Terri Andrews (owner of TSL) Terri Andrews, owner of Tropic Star Lodge understands the importance of introducing children to fishing in a safe and exciting environment. Every child who releases their first Pacific billfish species at Tropic Star Lodge receives a certificate honoring their achievement. Congratulations, Josh. My children all want to fish with you!
And don’t forget to bring your cameras. One of the most exciting aspects of traveling and fishing is taking pictures. With the digital technology available today, high quality photographs are easy and fun to take. Here are two outstanding pictures taken by Josh Golden -
While I have never had one of my photographs published in Marlin Magazine, three years ago my son, who was twelve at the time, took a photograph of a jumping Black Marlin at the same time that Pat Ford did. Pat’s pic was better and made the cover of MM. My son had his picture published inside. I am still trying to achieve that level of accomplishment.
Tropic Star Lodge September 8-15, 2012 The Pacific Blue Marlin migration visits the Pinas Reef in late summer to feed on prolific amounts of bait fish.
